Barbie openly shares her story and journey as Mom of a rape survivor, and the healing of their Restorative Justice outcome, making history in the justice system, and the lessons on the journey of her path to where she is today.
Barbie is a Community Champion for Silken Laumann’s Unsinkable organization, she is Coach Resource with a variety of Organizations, sits on the Board of Advisors for Panacea Media Humanized, and has walked Ancestral Paths and Elder Ceremony with Indigenous Elder Grandmother Kaarina.

Barbie discussing after her daughter was raped and how Barbie responded to working through the initial response and as a mother how she reacted to this crisis. Survival Mode.
"I watched my daughter disassociate from herself and her body. We were in survival mode in the beginning. (Responding to her daughter) Ok I got this, we got this, strong mom, we can do this. It all (Barbie's Initial Reactionary Response), it wasn't working for her. My responses weren't working for her." 19:21
I asked Barbie to share her experience with sitting across from her daughter's assailant in a 8 hour therapy session. Barbie's daughter opted for restorative outcomes for her attacker. She recalls the emotions she felt when facing her daughter's rapist.
"This was a day of (Pause).. I have never had every emotion run through my body in a short period of time. It was horrible and gut wrenching and beautiful and healing." 36:08
